Our Environmental Practices

As a company we are active in both awareness and how we can continually improve our impact on the environment. Following are a few examples of what we are currently doing and also future plans.

Single-use plastic is a major problem in the cleaning supply industry in both domestic and professional products. Our sustainable choice is Evans Vanodine e:dose super concentrate ranges. This allows us to refill and reuse our labelled bottles over and over again.

Cleaning products - We use Evans Vanodine as our supplier as their beliefs align with our own, "Every product in the Evans range is analysed using the W.E.I.R GreenTick system. The lower the overall product score, the lower the impact on the environment."

Environmentally Conscious Cleaning Practices and Methods – In one to one training we highlight to our staff about being conscious about the ways they clean – including but not limited to:

Use of micro-fibre COSHH colour coded cloths – all cloths are washed and reused drastically reducing single use products that are often found in the cleaning industry.

Use of products (keep it to a necessary amount – no excessive use)

Bleach is not to be used without permission from management.

All staff aware of why the Evans Vanodine Green Tick products are important.

Laundry Equipment - it is policy for our company to invest in modern efficient laundry appliances. We use Electrolux Professional equipment as they are known for designing appliances with the lowest possible water, energy and detergent consumption.

Company Vehicles – It is policy for our company vehicles to be low-emission models and or driven on ECO mode at all times. In the future we will be looking into an electric fleet.

Paperless Operations – Our company has been operating using digital solutions. Using digital quotes, invoicing, payments and secure cloud-based storage systems.

Environmental Policy

We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment in terms of the use of raw materials, emissions to the air and water, and waste generation, and seek to minimise this as far as is reasonably practicable.

We are committed to:

● Continually improving our environmental performance

● Preventing pollution

● Reducing the use of plastic

● Complying with all environmental legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relevant to the industry sector in which our services are employed.

Norfolk Holiday Home Services Ltd has implemented policies for the following areas:

Natural Resources

Recycling

● To understand and observe the principles and practices of circular economy: reduce, reuse, repair, share and recycle. ● To extend the life-cycle of equipment as much as possible (without detriment to its efficiency)

● To recycle all waste as possible from our premises.

● To ensure that all disposal, when it becomes the only option available, is done responsibly and with minimal impact on the environment.

Transport

● To minimise journeys and regularly service vehicles to maintain their efficiency.

● To promote, wherever possible, car-sharing.

● To plan all journeys to ensure the shortest, most fuel-efficient route is taken.

Supply Chain

● To collaborate with suppliers to ensure they recognise and reduce the environmental impact of their products and transportation.

● To further reduce our impact on the environment, Norfolk Holiday Home Services Ltd will source local suppliers wherever possible.

Communication and Review

● We will communicate this policy to all of our employees and ensure they are given appropriate training to raise awareness of environmental issues.

● Norfolk Holiday Home Services Ltd will review this policy on an annual basis, taking into account any changes within legislation and our organisation, as well as other factors, and notify staff of any updates or changes.
